About Sam Pearce
Formally trained as a print graphic designer at Toronto’s George Brown College of Art & Design, Sam has over 20 years of corporate design experience both in the UK and Canada. Sam started applying her passion for typography and layout to the art of books back in 2012. Since then, she has been involved in the design and publication of over 250 books encompassing a wide range of genres from business guides and self-help books to children’s stories and fantasy fiction.
Sam started SWATT Books with the mission of making independent business publishing professionals, and empowering business owners, thought leaders and coaches to change the world through the power of books.
Both Sam Pearce, and SWATT books have been featured in The Daily Mail, Bloomsbury’s “Writers’ & Artists’ Guide to Self-Publishing”, Express FM, Frome FM, and the International Association of Professional Coaching & Mentoring. With formal accreditation from both the Independent Publishers’ Guild and the Alliance of Independent Authors, SWATT Books has been awarded Self-Publishing Service of the Year for two years running by the South England Prestige Awards.
On a deeper level, there were two things that Sam loved most growing up: looking through her father’s record collection, and books. The idea of combining the beautiful design and typography of those record sleeves with stories that can change lives is what drives Sam to do what she does. SWATT Books is the synthesis of those two passions coming together to help business owners like herself experience the transformational power of self-publishing first-hand.
She is passionate about empowering others to share their knowledge and stories through books and enjoys guiding business owners through the process of bringing their books to life.
In addition to books and design, Sam is passionate about cars, animals, and travel. She now lives near Salisbury with her husband Nathan and cat Carmen.
