I quite often get asked what the differences are between getting a traditional publishing deal and self-publishing. And the answer is a lot more than you think, but not in the ways you would imagine.

There are the differences that everyone expects, such as royalty percentage, and rights. But the differences can also extend to things like creative control, production time, and marketing input.

In February 2019, I gave a talk at 4N Fareham Breakfast on this very subject.  You can watch the full talk below.

If you have any questions about the differences between traditional publishing and self-publishing drop them in the comments and I’ll answer them as soon as I can.  If you’re not sure which option is best for you and your book, just send me a message and we can arrange a chat.
